1972

In 1972 the Tip Truck Owners was formed as a result of a 6 week stoppage in objection to the unreasonably low rates being paid.  Tipper contractor payments on civil and demolition projects were so low that L.O.D.'s and small fleet owners were no longer viable.

1985

On Monday 12th August 1985 Justice Liddy made the Contract Determination to legally enforce the minimum rates and conditions for all contracts of haulkage of excavation and demolition.

1973

In 1972/73 agreement A91H was reached with major contractors who were members of the MBA. Warren Daly, Frank Battam, Glen Cherie ad Paul McKenna represented the Contractors and the TWU represented the L.O.D.'s.  The rates were renegotiated annually.

1995

In 1995/96 the Civil Contractors Federation came into being and all rate negotiations have been held with them since that time.

1979

A bill was submitted to the industry in March 1979 for L.O.D.'s to be regulated. The NSW Parliament passed the ACT late in April 1979.
